Breakfast with Ivana von Retteg Nolan

Event Recap: An Intimate Breakfast with Ivana von Retteg Nolan

Columbia Alumni Mexico hosted a highly engaging breakfast-conference on September 9th. The exclusive gathering brought together a fantastic group of attendees, with the vast majority being Columbia University alumni, alongside a wonderful turnout of graduates from LSE, Harvard, and Georgetown. The event was attended and presided over by Enrique Prieto Flores, President of the Board, and Rodrigo García Moncada, Board Member and Law Program Chair, of Columbia Alumni Mexico.

Due to limited venue capacity, access was strictly restricted. However, this limited seating allowed for a wonderfully intimate and close-knit setting.

Following the traditional lecture, guests enjoyed a unique opportunity to chat directly with our guest speaker during breakfast. Attendees brought along their own copies of her work, which she graciously personalized and signed. Beyond sharing fascinating insights from her own personal journey as a Mexican writer, screenwriter, and historian, she captivated the room with mesmerizing stories about the history of pirates, a theme deeply intertwined with her successful Blackdawn saga published by Penguin Random House.

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Ivana von Retteg Nolan for her outstanding participation as our speaker and for sharing her time and expertise with our community. Thank you as well to everyone who joined us for making this a truly memorable morning, and a special thanks to our fellow alumni from LSE, Harvard, and Georgetown for being part of this event!
